Failed reciprocal link check

[[infraction]] - Provides a specific infraction so that link partners know exactly why their link failed the link check.

There are several reasons why a link would fail a reciprocal link check.

  • The link URL was not working
  • The reciprocal URL was no longer linking back properly. If the site administrator has the link checker options for checking the accuracy of the link text or for checking for JavaScript redirection cheats then the link validator will check for these and indicate that this was the reason the site failed the check.
  • If the site administrator has enabled the option to crawl a website to ensure that the reciprocal URL is accessable from the homepage of the website it is on and the link checker was unable to find a path to the reciprocal URL from the home page.
  • If Robots.txt directives disallow access to the reciprocal link page when this check is enabled.
  • If NOFOLLOW/NOINDEX meta directives are used on the reciprocal page when this check is enabled.
